The Product Specialist executes product introductory and training sessions for Volant’s customer base, both at Volant facilities as well as the customers site, providing technical and sales support as needed.     Your role with us:

    Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Machinist is required to set-up and perform machining operations based on production requirements and to specifications and tolerances of engineering drawings. The CNC Machinist calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and uses measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers to measure parts. Also operates and maintains a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to perform precision, machining operations such as, turning and milling, boring, drilling, and other operations. This role is an afternoon shift Monday –Thursday from 4:30 pm – 3:00 am.

    You will bring to the role:

    • 5 years of related CNC machining experience including set up and operating
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and familiarity with measuring techniques.
    • Experience programming/set up on Mazak equipment preferred.
    • Completion or partial completion of a certified journeyman machinist program is an asset
    • Candidates will be required to complete an internal programming test.

            Your role with us:

            Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the CMM Lead will oversee and direct all activities relating to the use of the coordinate measuring machines. You will work in a skilled team of machinists, inspectors, and engineers reviewing and prioritizing CMM requirements from various departments.  This is a hands-on role performing dimensional and visual inspections of unique, and complex products and assemblies. You will possess excellent communication skills and will be able to instruct, train and mentor CMM operators while overseeing and directing all activities relating to the use of the coordinate measuring machines.

            You will bring to the role:

            • 5 years of QA/QC experience, preferable in an ISO 9001 environment
            • 5 years of experience operating and programming a coordinate measuring machine
            • Strong knowledge and proficiency in the set up and programming of Zeiss CMM machines using Calypso
            • Knowledge of programming of rotary tables or similar 4th axis equipment; machining techniques and measuring techniques
            • The ability to work in a moderately physically demanding environment
